Toronto summer camps are a great way to get your kids out and moving during the day when school is out of session, but since COVID-19 information on them has been scarce and difficult to find. Don’t worry Toronto parents, I’ve got you covered!
If you’re looking to send your little ones to summer camp during the day this summer, here’s an awesome list to kick off your search!
City of Toronto offers a fun camp experience for kids 4-12 all over the city. Camp is booked by the week. They have a standard camp which includes, arts & crafts, sports and games as well as specialty camps for kids 6+ that range from gymnastics and dance to hockey, science and even cooking!
4Cats Arts Studio offers a full-week summer camp program for the budding artist in your family! Camps are intended for participants ages 6-12 and campers can expect to utilize their art skills and creativity daily.
YMCA has a wide range of summer camp options for day campers that enjoy things like art, science sports, swimming, outdoor activities, and even conservation! Their different camps operate on different schedules, so it’s best to check with them directly for schedules and age requirements.
Jardin Infantil Academy’s summer camp programs offer city kids aged 4-10 the chance to learn, play and grow in a forest school environment. Their multi-lingual approach incorporates the well-known principles of Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf thinking for early childhood development. The Summer Camp program streams include Nature Camp, Art Camp, Theatre Camp, Cooking Camp and the all-new Multi-Sport Camp where kids can develop skills like problem-solving, independence and creativity through hands-on experiences. With rotating weekly themes, JIA’s camps are conducted primarily outdoors and include enriching field trips to the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Botanical Gardens and much more.
Toronto Kidz offers two summer camp options based on age. Their kidz camp is for kids 5-10 years, while their junior camp is best suited for children ages 9-12. Younger campers enjoy rotating themes every week ranging from Pirates to Dinosaurs and everything in between, while the older campers focus on becoming well-rounded individuals through their activities centered around arts and crafts, science, outdoors, and even fitness!
BGC Dovercourt Club hosts a fun and interactive summer camp that encompasses things like sports, gardening, arts, and even tutoring to ensure retention over school breaks! You can sign up now for these great camps! They even have 2 convenient locations to choose from!
High Park Nature Centre has an incredibly interactive nature exploration camp for the outdoorsy kid in your family! The youngest age that they accept is 4 and the oldest is 16, making this a great option for a wide variety of kiddos.
City Scouts is a unique urban summer camp that teaches kids the skills that they need to be independent in an urban setting. They accept children from ages 9 to 16, with different groups for each age range.
Toronto Metropolitan University Day Camps offers options for kids ages 6-17 and offers a wide variety of programs focusing on different skills and hobbies. They even offer virtual camps!
True North is a Toronto sports camp that holds recreational camps for kids ages 4-14. They currently host camps for baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, and multi-sport.
Human Moves Day Camp is an Approved Toronto District School Board Educational Partner and holds Toronto summer camps that allow your camper to focus on leadership, problem-solving, and creativity while participating in individual and team activities! Human Moves offers camps for campers ages 4-14 years old.
Sprouts holds small group summer camps for kids 4 and up that have so many fun activities! Different weeks are for different themes, but some of the most notable include things like Messy Olympics Week, Ninja/Parkour Week, Slime Week, Cooking Week, and so much more!
Impact Skateboard Club is an extremely popular summer camp option for campers ages 6-14 that teaches skateboarding while encompassing fun activities like art, field trips, and even filmmaking! Their 2022 camp is already completely full, but waiting lists are available.
The Cube School hosts a summer camp for kids in grades 2-6 (as of September 2022) that focus on things like technology, art, and even science! Camps allow kids to learn real-life skills in things like video game development, coding, and even digital arts!
