8 Highly Rated Toronto Midwives Clinics – To Get You Started With Your Search

Toronto Midwives - Close up of pregnant belly

Living in Toronto means you have a lot of options for Toronto midwives clinics. No matter where you are in the city, there is a great midwife clinic for you! A midwife is a great choice for expecting mothers who are having an uncomplicated pregnancy, and maybe want more control over their birth experience.  If you are expecting and looking for a midwife clinic in Toronto, I’ve compiled a list of the best midwives in each area of the city! Let’s get into it.

What is a Midwife and Why Might I use one?

According to the Ontario Midwifery Act (December 31, 1993), “The practice of midwifery is the assessment and monitoring of women during pregnancy, labour and postpartum period of their newborn babies, the provision of care during normal pregnancy, labour and postpartum period and the conducting of spontaneous vaginal deliveries.”

In Ontario, being under the care of a midwife is covered by OHIP, so this is a great alternative if you are having an uncomplicated pregnancy and want a more holistic approach to your pregnancy, and would like the choice of where you deliver.  Whether it be at home or a birth centre or your local hospital, the choice is yours.  As you will see in the list below, each Toronto midwife clinic will have a home hospital it has privileges at.  Based on where you want to deliver, your choice of clinic may be narrowed down to a specific area of the city.
