As a Toronto lifestyle photographer, my newborn portrait sessions take place in the comfort of your own home. To me, this is the perfect setting for your baby’s first photos. You’ve probably spent months planning and decorating the nursery, so why not show it off during your newborn photo session?! Even if you don’t have a nursery, your home is likely where you feel the most comfortable.
My job as your newborn photographer is to capture the new and blossoming connection you have with your new baby. I fully believe in following your baby’s cues. If they are awake when I get there, we go with it. I love capturing images of awake newborns. It feels like you can look deep into their little souls and you get so many sweet facial expressions! I try and make all of my newborn sessions as relaxed as possible, so that I have the ability to capture those organic and precious moments that my clients love. Check out my session prep guide if you are wondering how I tell my clients to get ready for their newborn session.
All of my newborn sessions take place on weekday mornings. I have very few weekend spots available. I recommend booking a newborn session at least 2-3 months in advance to secure your date!
This sweet family welcomed their newest addition 4 weeks early and I had the pleasure of doing their newborn photos when miss Lucy still should have been in the womb. We started the session in the main bedroom on the bed where there was some jumping and story reading. This gave big brother a chance to warm up to me being there and it made for some super sweet photos.
Next I got the sweetest photos of big brother loving on his little sister. I just adore capturing the budding relationship of new siblings. I also snuck in some photos of Lucy alone with mom and dad. This little one is so loved.
Next, we moved downstairs to the living room. Big brother got some energy out by running laps around the coffee table. He stopped just long enough to let me take this super sweet photo of him. More snuggles and giggles were captured.
Finally, we ended the session in the playroom which had the most magical light. Big brother showed me his toys and then I stepped back to capture the magic. (In the photo below, big brother is admiring himself in the mirror. This is my favourite photo from our session I think!)
I hope you enjoyed seeing this lifestyle newborn session! Please visit my website to learn more about my newborn sessions. I would be honoured to capture this special time for you and your family.
